Keith Maloof has been coaching football at Norcross High School for a long, long time.
Back when he was first hired to the post in 1999, some of the current Blue Devils' rivals -- Grayson High School, Mountain View, Lanier, Mill Creek, or Peachtree Ridge -- did not yet exist.
In those 25 years, Maloof has won back-to-back state titles (2012-13) and has sent dozens of players like Alvin Kamara, Jared Pickney, and Lorenzo Carter to the NFL. Almost more impressive than that, all of his previous 24 teams have finished the regular season .500 or better (five or more wins).
But on Thursday night, the longest-tenured head coach took another step in his coaching career as he became the winningest coach in Gwinnett County history. He won game No. 198 at Norcross with the 41-14 win over region rival Duluth High School.
Maloof joined the High School Scoreboard Show on Friday night to discuss his team's win, what that legacy means to him, and what he's looking forward to as the season crosses the halfway point. Hear that full interview in the clip above and tune in every Friday night from 7 p.m. to midnight as Sam Crenshaw and Coach Chris Parker recap all the high school football action from across the Peach State.
