Golf legend Phil Mickelson continues to face scrutiny over his decision to leave the PGA Tour in favor of the recently formed breakaway league, LIV Golf.

Speaking with reporters after Thursday's opening round of The Open Championship at St. Andrew's, Mickelson was asked roughly twice as many questions about LIV Golf than the Open, according to Brandon Contes of Awful Announcing.
One sequence in particular seemed to frustrate Lefty, when he was asked three followup questions by the same reporter about missing a champions dinner event marking the storied tournament's 150th anniversary.
"Even missing out on an occasion like the past champions dinner with the 150th --" the reporter said, before being cut off by Mickelson.
"Let it go, dude," Mickelson said. "Let it go. That's three times you've asked the same question. I don't know what to tell you. I couldn't be happier."
Mickelson and tens of other PGA veterans were banished from the tour earlier this season in response to their signing on with LIV Golf. They are still permitted to play in majors, however, which fall outside the PGA's purview.
The six-time major winner claimed the Claret Jug at The Open Championship at Muirfield, in Scotland, in 2013.
As for the champions dinner, event organizers and Mickelson reportedly agreed it was best for him to skip, given the controversy over LIV Golf.
