This had been a difficult season for the South Cobb Eagles to this point. Coming in to tonight's game, the Eagles had lost five consecutive games while surrendering more than 40-points in each of the last four. Their fortunes could have changed with a thrilling 17-15 win tonight over the previously undefeated region rival Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs.
The head coach of the South Cobb Eagles, Coach Thomas Hansen, joined the High School Scoreboard Show to talk about this big win for his program.
"I gotta be honest... it's really emotional," says Coach Hansen. "We came out and we played a game that kinda blew my mind. We played like I knew we had the ability to play, but I hadn't seen us play."

Coming in to tonight's game, South Cobb had been struggling to not let little mistakes turn into big mistakes. "It was one of those situations where we would make a mistake, and that would compound itself," He told us, "Then a game would get away from us." The Eagles took full advantage of their bye week coming in to tonight's matchup. Coach Hansen challenged his coaches to identify three areas of improvement.
"We worked on those things, and we got better."
It was a tremendous win for the Eagles tonight. Let's see if that can now compound and push South Cobb in the right direction for the rest of the season.
