Matt Ryan has been getting criticized for his supposed lack of mobility for years. In fact, that is something many fans are most open about when they identify players they want the Falcons to draft.
Nick Kayal is tired of it and he put that myth to bed. He first highlighted the pressure avoidance rate for 2020, which is basically how successful a quarterback is under pressure. That ranking is as follows:
1. Josh Allen (29.2%)
2. Kyler Murray (28.1%)
3. Matt Ryan (17.9%)
That would slot him in ahead of the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
Nick then took it a step further and identified the highest-rated quarterbacks outside of the pocket. Those rankings are as follows:
1. Deshaun Watson (92.0)
2. Patrick Mahomes (91.8)
3. Aaron Rodgers (87.7)
4. Matt Ryan (85.9)
