After their 6-5 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves continue to find themselves on the outside looking in as they are now two games back of the New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks for the final two spots in the National League Wild Card race. On Wednesday, Steak Shapiro and Sandra Golden shared their thoughts on the ups and downs of the Braves’ season and whether or not fans should still look for a playoff berth by Atlanta.

“I’ll just say this. This is not the time to say I’m checked out,” Shapiro said as he explained why he believes Braves’ fans should not give up on the team, who he says needs to “find your way in” to postseason play. As Shapiro continued, he explained while poor batting of several players has been evident of late, he believes they are still capable of breakout performances and with the return of Ozzie Albies looming, the Braves are still worth giving complete support.

“Listen, you hope that some of these guys in October are in the lineup and hitting and you have absolutely a great shot,” Shapiro told Golden as he expressed his thoughts on why being optimistic about the Braves reaching the postseason is a must at this point in the season. “Don’t check out. These are big games every night,” Shapiro added.
