3 injured in high-rise fire in Woodland Hills

Three people were seriously injured Thursday in a fire in a high-rise building in Woodland Hills.

The fire was reported at 7:34 a.m. at a 17-story building at 6320 N. Canoga Ave., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The patients' injuries were described as burns and they were all rushed to a hospital, said department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

Crews took 32 minutes to fully extinguish the blaze, which originated as an electrical fire on the 10th floor, she said.

Firefighters had to use stairwells to access the flames.

Crews were expected to remain on scene mopping up and removing smoke from the property.
