A lot has happened since we last caught up with KNX Hero Summer Willis.

She's completed dozens of marathons running for change and awareness, including one where she carried a mattress on her back. She has also crawled a half-marathon and even spearheaded the Summer Willis Act, which defines consent when a sexual assault occurs.
Willis has been making an impact all over the world these last couple of years, and she's back in Los Angeles for a special event.

Willis went years keeping her story of sexual assault hidden, which is common among people who experience any type of sexual violence. More recently, labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta came forward with her secret of suffering from rape and assault, keeping it hidden for decades.
On Sunday, April 12th, Willis, along with Los Angeles' own Lawrence Cohen, is organizing the first-ever "Denim Run" in Santa Monica.

“Starting at Ocean View Park, there is both a 1-mile option and a 5k option with an amazing festival,” she told Heroes host Heather Jordan. “Afterwards, at the park, there are vendors, there's stitching, there's like flower crowns and photo booths, [and also some meaningful conversations to be had. We have incredible honorary starters from a beautiful Epstein survivor named Lisa Phillips to some characters from Pretty Little Liars to the woman who helped legally over 400 Nassar survivors, and so it's a dream team. And this really is an event for both survivors and supporters, because I think a lot of people right now are like, ‘Well, how do I help?’ People are talking about sexual assault all the time in the news, but really, it's about standing up and showing up, and we really do want as many people there as possible just to honor survivors during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.”
Willis will also lead denim runs in New York and Texas with a goal to make it an annual and nationwide run for hope.
