A charter school in West Hollywood was briefly locked down Thursday when a man allegedly wielded a rifle on or near the campus, but the suspect was taken into custody and no injuries were reported.
The suspect was spotted Thursday morning as students were being dropped off at Larchmont Charter School in the 1200 block of North Fairfax Avenue. Sheriff's deputies from the West Hollywood station responded and took the man into custody nearby.

No school employees or students were injured.
Los Angeles Police Department Chief Michel Moore wrote on social media that his agency was monitoring the situation, which he said involved a male suspect who allegedly pointed a long rifle at a school employee.
"The suspect was detained by (sheriff's deputies) in the Hollywood area, and the LAPD has been in contact with our LASD partners," according to the LAPD. "There are no reported injuries and no active threat to the community. As always, if you see something say something and report it to your local police department."
