MALIBU, Calif. (KNX) — A suspected drunken driver who allegedly downed a utility pole was responsible for a traffic jam on Pacific Coast Highway Monday morning.
PCH was closed for several hours after the crash, which occurred just after midnight at Rambla Vista, according to authorities.

The suspected DUI driver crashed into a parked car, flipped and knocked down a utility pole, authorities said.
One pole was knocked down and another utility pole was leaning toward a house, Sgt. James Arens of the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff's Station told City News Service.
A female driver was arrested at the scene but it wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was seriously hurt, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Utility crews were sent to make repairs in the early hours of the morning.
People on social media shared images of major backups on surrounding side streets and the Santa Monica Unified School District reported its school buses were being rerouted due to the closure.
SCE reported that 51 customers were without power as of 7:30 a.m., according to CBS.
PCH was closed in both directions until about 7:15 a.m., when one lane was reopened in each direction, the sheriff's department said.
