Bella Hadid is often considered one of the most fashionable women in the world, but even she has fashion regrets.

While the red satin Alexandre Vauthier dress that she wore to the 2016 Cannes Film Festival is considered iconic, the supermodel recently revealed that she had some mixed feelings about the risqué dress that featured a plunging neckline and a sky-high slit.

As Hadid took a stroll down memory lane breaking down 15 of her boldest looks in Vogue’s “My Life in Looks,” she recalled: "I was nervous in this dress, I look very sexual and all these things.”

“I was still nervous about cameras and nervous about having a lot of makeup and nervous about this slit ... I kind of get embarrassed of this moment still, even though the dress is gorgeous it just doesn't feel so much like me,” she said in the clip.

She admitted that she was grateful that she avoided a major wardrobe malfunction, adding: “I think maybe there was one little slip that happened.”

Hadid reveals the dress was the start of the "Bella persona that everyone sees of me."

The 24-year-old notes the images represent her alter ego "Belinda," which she describes as her polar opposite.

"She's very va-va-voom,” she notes.

The star, who was once deemed the world’s most beautiful woman, also recalled being in a bad place "physically and mentally" at the onset of her career due to the enormous "pressure." She added that she's in a much better headspace now than when she was first starting out.

Back in 2019, the then-23-year-old, who infamously walked in three Victoria’s Secret runway shows and was chosen to wear the brand’s coveted angel wings, revealed that she never felt self-assured being scantily-clad on the catwalk.

"I felt confident in a suit or a beautiful gown on a runway,” Hadid said at the Vogue Fashion Festival in Paris.

“To be in my underwear wasn't something that made me feel, like, 'Yea, I'm going to rock that runway,'" she added.

However, she recalled feeling “really sexy” for the first time on a runway while modeling for Rihanna’s Fenty collection.

"When I first did Fenty, I was doing other lingerie shows and I never felt powerful on a runway, like, in underwear,” she explained.
