Though Ryan Reynolds recently said he was going to take a “little sabbatical” from acting, he didn’t offer many concrete details why.

He’d just finished “Spirited,” Apple TV+'s musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol,” featuring Will Ferrell. He then posted on Instagram, "Not sure I'd have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago. Singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true.”

Sounds like maybe he was just a little tired.

After some shocked fan reaction, he did clarify later in his Instagram Stories that, “A sabbatical can last anywhere from two months to a year. In general, six months is the standard length of time for a paid sabbatical. It gives you enough time and flexibility to do things such as travel, study, or complete a major side project.”

All of which he soon followed up with simply, “Parent.”

On Monday, Reynolds went into a little more detail about his sudden break from the acting profession.

He told The Hollywood Reporter that it came down to that classic relatable reason: to spend more time with his family -- wife Blake Lively and their three daughters, James, 6, Inez, 5, and Betty, 2.

"I'm just trying to create a little bit more space for my family," said the "Deadpool" star. "You know, you really don't get that time back."

As if the handsome, successful, funny “Hitman’s Bodyguard” star and Mint Mobile bigwig isn’t enough to make him every woman’s dream guy, Reynolds throws the responsible family man gravy on top.

Enjoy your break, Ryan!
