Conor Sheary
Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Penguins General Manager Jim Rutherford made a big trade on Monday acquiring forward Patrick Marleau from San Jose in exchange for a conditional 2021 3rd round draft pick.

But he wasn't done.

Conor Sheary is coming back to Pittsburgh.

The Penguins will send Dominik Kahun to Buffalo in exchange for forwards Sheary and Evan Rodrigues.

Sheary, who spent his first three seasons in Pittsburgh, spent the last two with the Sabres.

In 55 games this season, Sheary has nine goals and 10 assists.

Rodrigues has spent all five of his seasons in the NHL with Buffalo.

This season he has five goals and four assists in 38 games.
