Josh Bell Named N.L. Player Of The Month

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Pirates breakout star, first baseman Josh Bell has been named the National League Player of the Month for May, beating out Colorado’s Nolan Arenado.

Bell’s record breaking May included a .389 batting average with 12 homers 12 doubles and 31 RBIs. He also had 94 total bases, the most by any Pirate ever, in any month.

Bell leads the league in Extra base hits with 21 doubles with 21, RBIs with 53 and is tied for total bases with 154.

On the season, Bell is currently batting .332 with 18 home runs, already six better than he had all of last season.
