Sarver, PA (93.7 The Fan) - Defending Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Model Champion Michael Norris held off a hard charging Tommy Beck to win Friday night at Lernerville. Beck led early only to see Norris take the lead on a lap three pass in turn four but Colton Flinner stole it away with 11-laps left in the main event. Norris managed to get back around him and held off Beck and cruised to the checkered flag. The victory was Norris' first this season at Lernerville.
In Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modified action Rex King Jr. survived a restart two laps from the end to grab the victory. King had the car dialed-in on the top side of the track but mid-way through the 25-lap feature a hard-charging Dave Murdick went to the bottom and had several good runs but couldn't complete the pass before a caution slowed the field. King nailed the ensuing restart and Murdick and Brian Swartzlander were left to fight it out for the 2nd step on the podium. Swartzlander prevailed with Murdick coming in third.
Sye Lynch grabbed his second career victory at The Action Track winning the Peoples Gas DIRTcar 410 Sprint feature. Lynch started from the pole position and fought off early challenges from AJ Flick and Jack Sodeman Jr. A caution flag on lap 6 slowed the field when Flick and Brandon Spithaler got together in turn four, ending both of their days. Sodeman tried to take advantage of the clean air to get the lead after the restart but Lynch was too strong on the high side and motored to the checkered flag.
Joey Zambotti climbed the fence after winning the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stocks Feature. Zambotti battled Tyler Dietz, Ryan Moyer and Corey McPherson in his battle to get to the front. It looked like Zambotti was headed for his second-straight runner-up finish as Dietz made a final charge but he ran out of laps and Zambotti took the checkers and then headed to front stretch fence to celebrate with the fans before heading to victory lane.
Fab4 Racing returns next Friday night May 24, with Police, Fire and EMS night. All first responders with proper ID receive Free General Admission Seating.
