Brown posted on social media on Saturday morning asking the Raiders to release him.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that Brown's ask came after the Raiders fined him $215,073.53 Friday night “for conduct detrimental to the team” and that the Raiders voided the $29.125 million worth of guaranteed money in Brown’s deal.

Following the social media post, the Raiders announced they released Brown, who then signed with the New England Patriots hours later.
