PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Pirates bats were on display Monday night at PNC Park as they got three home runs from Josh Bell, one from Jung Ho Kang and one from Jose Osuna as the Pirates defeat the Cubs 18-5  in game one of the four game series.

It wasn't just the home run ball sparking the Pirates offense Monday night. Adam Frazier was on base five times, including four doubles which tied a Major League record last reached by Matt Carpenter of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018 and Frazier was the first Pirate to achieve the feat since Paul Waner did it in 1932.


Indianapolis, AAA: Defeat Louisvilee 7-6 Monday night to improve to 42-39 on the season

Altoona, AA: Defeat Akron 5-4 Monday night to improve to 43-37 on the season.

Bradenton, A: Defeat Jupiter 3-2 Monday night to improve to 44-36 on the season

Greensboro, A: Defeat Hagerstown 9-7 Monday night to improve to 51-30 on the season

West Virginia, A-Short Season: Falls to Auburn 7-5 Monday night and our now 9-8 on the season.

Bristol, Rookie Advanced: Defeat Kingsport 6-4 Monday night to improve to 6-7 on the season.

During his postgame conversation with the media, Williams was asked about coming back from injury and he got emotional discussing it as he brought up Tyler Skaggs, who was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Texas and was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.
