When Garth Brooks spent some time working out with the Pirates about a month ago, taking battting practice and fielding ground balls, we were inspired to put up a Fan Morning Show Twitter Poll.
DAILY TWITTER POLL:Garth Brooks is going to be in Pirates camp for a while. If you -- a Joe Off The Street -- got 500 at-bats in a Major League season, how many hits could you get?

Keep in mind, this would include 8 major leaguers playing defense which is why - as an overweight 63 year old who barely batted .300 as a little leaguer 51 years ago - I voted zero. 35-40 years ago, however, I'd like to think I'd have been able to get to first base on a flare to right field without getting thrown out at first base.
But as our old friend John Jaso would attest, those of you played even JV ball in High School figure you could get not just one hit, but several. And if you played at any kind of collegiate level, surely you'd get 25 or more hits because, after all, 25 hits in 500 at bats is only a .050 average. By comparison, Jameson Taillon's 2018 average was .070 (4-57) and Ivan Nova finally got a hit to check in at .019.
