Steelers Sign 'Duck' Hodges To Practice Squad, Elliot To Active Roster

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - After the Steelers traded quarterback Josh Dobbs to the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday, Pittsburgh has their new third-string QB.

The team announced Tuesday that Devlin “Duck” Hodges has been signed. He will be on the practice squad meaning the Steelers will be carrying two quarterbacks, Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph, on the active roster.

The Steelers also signed linebacker Jayrone Elliot to the active 53-man roster.

He originally signed as a free agent on August 22 before being released on August 31.

Elliot played in two preseason games for Pittsburgh this season.

He had six tackles along with a sack and fumble recovery which he took 88 yards down the field for a touchdown.
