It was at the Rams where Barron was moved into the linebacker position after Rams’ Alec Ogletree fractured his leg.
“They just told me to go out there and play football. I have been playing linebacker ever since. It wasn’t a thing that was talked about or discussed, or anything like that. They just threw me out there and told me to go.”
Barron is excited about the opportunity to play for the Steelers, especially with Mike Tomlin as coach.
“Just the opportunity to play for him, the things I heard about him, I thought it might be a good fit for me,” said Barron. “Just the way he goes about things. How straight up and down he is about his work. And the way he handles his players and communicates with them. I am a similar type of person. I am straight up and down. I like things to be on the table and clear cut. I operate in that fashion. To work for somebody and play for somebody who operates in the same fashion as me, I thought that would be a good fit for me.”
Barron finished the 2018 season with 60 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a quarterback hit, and recorded safety, all while missing four games with an ankle injury.
