A week ago, following a season-opening 59-10 loss to the Ravens, Fitzpatrick requested a trade.
Fitzpatrick, 22, was the Dolphins first rounder (eleventh overall) in 2018 out of Alabama. He started 11 games as a rookie, playing both safety and cornerback, and intercepted two passes. In two games at safety this season, he recorded six tackles in each game. He had a forced fumble in the Dolphins 43-0 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. Fitzpatrick can play either safety position and slot cornerback. He is under contract through 2021 plus a fifth-year option.
The Steelers defense allowed six touchdown passes and 320 yards passing per game in the losses to New England and Seattle. Free Safety Sean Davis left Sunday's game with a shoulder injury after missing the opener while recovering from a sprained ankle. The Post-Gazette reports the injury is a torn labrum, but it is not believed to be season-ending.
Coach Mike Tomlin will meet the media Tuesday at noon. You can hear his news conference on 93.7 The Fan.
