Aaron Judge has joined #TeamMason.

Mason Ferrulli, a teenager who shares in his Instagram biography that he is a three-time Ependymoma brain cancer survivor and one-time spine cancer survivor, had a special moment on Sunday that left us with one of the most heartwarming videos we'll ever see. A big baseball fan, as made apparent by the design on his ceiling in the video and the many pictures related to the game on his Instagram account, Ferrulli's reaction to a baseball card unboxing went viral and put a smile across his — and many others' — faces.

"This happened last night!" Ferrulli wrote in the caption to the full video on his account, showing him and his father praying for a good card prior to the reveal. "Opened a diamond icon box and got a 1/1 Aaron Judge card!! I love opening baseball cards!"

The comments to both his initial Instagram post and the many videos that circulated their way around social media were overflowing with supportive comments for Ferrulli and his family.

According to a GoFundMe account set up in his name and organized by Kellie Short-Prime, Mason was diagnosed with brain cancer in January of 2017 at just 10 years old. After a 14-hour surgery and 35 rounds of radiation treatment, he was able to walk again and eventually resume playing baseball, though he has since dealt with recurrences (via KTVU.) The GoFundMe was created on September 1, 2020, when (as explained in the description) there were three new tumors in his spine and a new spot on his brain that were discovered, the latter of which quickly began to affect his mobility. It has raised nearly $90,000 of the $100,000 goal.

Ferrulli is a Bay Area sports fan, and he has been able to meet some of his favorite athletes, inspiring them with his strength and courage as he bravely fights his fight against cancer. For instance, he was able to meet Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, along with former Warrior Kevin Durant, when he was 12 years old in the summer of 2018 (via KTVU).
