NFL QB turned CBS Sports analyst Ben DiNucci joined the show. Ben agreed with Mike McCarthy that the offense looked a little ‘herky-jerky’ on Sunday, but explained why September football tends to be a little bit sloppy. He said a few of the things he saw from Aaron Rodgers was a ‘breath of fresh air’ even though the team only scored 20 points. How much fault should DK Metcalf hold for the numbers not looking a little bit better? Ben said the production we saw from Pat Freiermuth on Sunday is a calling-card of the McCarthy offense and matches up what Mike has done with his teams in Green Bay and Dallas. The guys asked Ben about the Drew Brees story that broke last night – that the Broncos, who signed Ben before the AFC Championship game, reached out to Brees about his availability following the injury to Bo Nix. Ben said Rodgers looked ‘comfortable’ and ‘healthy’ on Sunday and we couldn’t say that a lot last season.
