HIGHLIGHTS

A Sunday Night Miracle: It was arguably the most lopsided matchup heading into the week.
The 2nd place Fan Morning Squad went up against last place Zeise Is King.

Heading into Sunday night’s Colts-49ers game, the morning squad was down by 61 points. Paul Zeise’s co-manager Michael  Spacciapolli, Audacy Pittsburgh market manager, texted Colin Dunlap, Chris Mack and Matt Koll saying simply, “Just checking in. You guys feeling good?”

At that point, there was still some hope and some confidence they could pull it off, but not a lot of it. The morning show still had Deebo Samuel, Jonathan Taylor, Elijah Mitchell and the Colts D/ST left to play.
Yahoo gave them a 30% chance to come back and win it.

Mitchell scored an early game touchdown. The comeback began.
Jonathan Taylor overcame an early fumble to rush for just over 100 yards and a touchdown. Deebo Samuel got into the endzone as well, racking up 100 yards on 7 receptions and the Colts defense came up with a sack on the final play of the game. When all was said and done, The Fan Morning Squad squeaked on by with a 116.14-115.44 victory.

With the win, The Fan Morning Squad sits at 5-2 and is back at the top spot in the league standings.

Three’s Company: To the streaks we go…surely you’ve heard the clichéd “team you don’t want to face” for the unit that’s playing the best or has the most talent despite not getting the kind of results they want.

Both Bishop Sycamore and The PM Team….Team are the squads you don’t want to play right now. The PM Team laid the wood on The Marty Party this week, accounting for the biggest blowout across the league and the highest point total (145.10-65.94). Alvin Kamara’s 28.90 and the return of AJ Brown (23.30) led the way. Oh, and they did it while working around four players on a bye week.

“We never panicked here at PM Team headquarters…we believed in this roster, and in our management structure. We are not surprised by this surge, and look forward to bigger and better things in the coming weeks. Get your popcorn ready,” said Chris Mueller.

The PM Team…Team is now 6th in total points scored and in 5th place in the league standings.

Joe Starkey, Joe “Horse” Kapp and sales assistant Andrew Brncic’s Bishop Sycamore won 121.64-96.52 this week for their 3rd straight win as they worked around 4 players on bye themselves, as well as Patrick Mahomes only posting a mere 8.74 points.

“The savvy old newshound (me) has delivered one iconic speech after another, willing our team to victory. The most famous of those was ‘win one for the horsie,’” said Starkey.

Kapp and Brncic attribute draft strategy and keeping the same rigid work ethic as more important keys to their success…whatever it is, it’s gotten them into 4th place in the standings and above .500 at 4-3.

Staying In The Hunt: That’s what it was all about for Dorin Dickerson and Cale Berger’s CBDD as well as Josh Taylor, Shelby Cassessee and producer Greg Finley’s Sunday Grinders.
Both took care of their opponents and avoided falling in the standings.

CBDD is 4-3 and right smack dab in the middle at 6th place while the Sunday Grinders improved to 3-4 and are right behind them in 7th place.
