Duquesne University is mourning the loss of alumnus James Fallon, a standout player from the school's 1955 NIT Championship team.
The basketball star was 94.
Fallon's best season with the Dukes was 1954-55, playing in all 26 games, averaging more than seven points and more than three rebounds per game.
Known as the “Try Guy”, Fallon, a native of Carrick, graduated from Duquesne in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
He was a CPA and Director of Accounting at Allegheny Ludlum Steel until his retirement
He and the rest of that '55 team were inducted into the Duquesne Athletics Hall of Fame in 1978.
Fallon is preceded in death by his wife Mary who died his past February.
Earlier this week, Pitt's first Black varsity football player Jimmy Joe Robinson passed away. He was 97.
