Former NFL GM Says Steelers Offensive Line Was 'Soft' Last Year

Too Much Passing Made Them Soft

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - It's no secret that the Steelers offensive line wasn't very good last year. Former NFL General Manager Michael Lombardi joined The PM Team and had a very pointed criticism of the group.

"Part of their problem with their offensive line was because they got so pass happy they became soft. They really became soft," Lombardi told us.

"Nobody in that offense line played well. I think everybody would be the first to admit they didn't play well."

One player on the line whose future is in doubt is left tackle Alejandro Villanueva as he's a free agent this offseason. There have been reports that the Steelers are exchanging numbers with Villanueva and Michael was asked about the idea of the Steelers bringing him back.

"I like it. He can play better. He has played better, he has proven he played better."
