PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The second ranked safety in the nation, Gateway star Derrick Davis, announced Saturday afternoon he will play football at the defending national champion. Picking LSU over Penn State and Ohio State.
"I just feel like that is the perfect place for me," Davis told 247Sports of his commitment. "It reminded me of home. The staff really showed a lot of love toward me and my family. They see me doing a lot of big things for their team, for their program."
The 6’1”, 194 pound Davis is the 53rd best overall prospect in the country by 247 Sports.
Davis’ commitment moved LSU up to 3rd in the national 247 Sports recruiting rankings for 2021. Alabama is first, Ohio State second. Penn State ranked 31st and Pitt 32nd.
