Pro Football Focus’ Mike Renner tells the PM Team that according to their database, Pickett has the smallest hand “by a half inch.”

The same kind of issue surrounded Joe Burrow, who just happens to be a starting in the Super Bowl this Sunday, but Renner says it’s different.

“I didn’t buy into it with Joe Burrow, but I do buy into it when you are three quarters of an inch smaller than Joe Burrow,” said Renner.

Renner adds that he believes that will impact Pickett’s game in the NFL.

“The biggest thing that kind of doesn’t get talked about when we talk about hand size . . . NFL balls are an inch bigger in circumference, it is a different football, it will be more difficult to hold on to an throw,” said Renner.

Even with Renner saying he would be “worried” about Pickett if he was an NFL decision-maker doesn’t seem to be affecting his draft stock.

CBS Sports reports that Pickett could be taken in the Top 6, with the Carolina Panthers allegedly highly interested.

Small hands or not, the fact is Pickett helped win an ACC Championship for Pitt, won numerous quarterback and offensive awards, was a Heisman Trophy finalist and will most likely be a first round draft pick.
