If you go into almost any bar when the Olympics are on you’re bound to hear someone say, “I could do that.”

A lot of “common everyday people” believe they could realistically compete with Olympic athletes.

PM Team producer and Pirates pre and post-game host Kraig Riley is one of those people.

On Monday’s show Andrew Fillipponi asked the question, “if you gave Kraig Riley 10 penalty kick tries against the U.S. Women’s goalkeeper, how many does he make?”

Chris Mueller said he would make one or two with Kraig agreeing.

Kraig believes he can hit it hard enough to force the goalie to have to guess, but the Fan Morning Show took issue with that on Tuesday morning.

“People have no idea how far 12 yards is,” said Colin Dunlap, claiming the goalkeeper would have plenty of time to react to his kick.

Chris Mack added that 30 percent of Kraig’s kicks would miss the net completely.

“You have to, at the international level, essentially guess, but with Kraig Riley kicking he’s built like Doug from that cartoon Doug Funny, he’s not going to put a lot of heat behind it.

Poni agrees with the morning team that the notion Kraig could make at least one out of 10 is absurd.

“I don’t think you can kick it hard enough; I don’t think they have to guess; I think she’s able to react in real time to your kicks.” Said Poni.

But Kraig says he would be able to kick it hard enough from 12 yards away.

Kraig’s last organized soccer game was in 8th grade.
