PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The NCAA men’s basketball tournament is scheduled to return to Pittsburgh in 2022, but that could be affected by a decision today.
The division 1 men’s basketball committee has decided the NCAA Tournament should be held in a single geographic area in 2021, at the end of this season.
NCAA is in preliminary talks with officials in Indianapolis to potentially host the entire 68-team tournament around their metropolitan area, using the original dates in March and April.
We don’t yet know what will happen to the cities that are scheduled to host in 2021, but they could push everything back a year or give them other dates in the future.
Duquesne University is also scheduled to host another March Madness regional in 2024.
