Alexander Ovechkin is one of the NHL’s best players, there is no arguing that. But when it comes to his leadership skills, those came into question last night.

The Boston Bruins beat the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night in double overtime to give the B’s a 2-1 series advantage.

Each game of the series has gone to overtime so far.

Former Penguins defenseman Justin Shultz missed a puck behind the net and it was picked up by Bruins forward Craig Smith who took the puck and wrapped it around into the net to give Boston the win.

Goalie Llya Samsonov was out of place for the goal and it appeared there was some communication issues that lead to Boston winning the game.

The cameras then caught the Capitals’ captain breaking his stick over the boards and then yelling presumably at Samsonov in Russian.

Russian reporter Slava Malamud says he read Ovechkin’s lips and he was saying “don’t sleep, b*tch” in Russian.

People on social media quickly ripped Ovi for his lack of leadership including Penguins broadcaster Phil Bourque.
