PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – One has 10 touchdowns on the season, another recently had his first 100-yard game. Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi said receiver Jordan Addison and tailback Israel Abanikanda are game-time decisions as they are in concussion protocol.

Addison leads the ACC in receiving touchdowns and fourth in receiving yards, averaging 95.7 yards per game.  The sophomore was runner-up for ACC Rookie of the Year in 2020.

"Jaylon Barden's (8 rec-155yds, TD) had a great week at the zebra position or slot receiver position," Narduzzi said Thursday.  "He's had a good week.  You got Taysir Mack (22 rec-369yds, 3 TD).  We got a lot of playmakers out there.  He (Pickett) will still have all of his weapons."

Narduzzi said Addison could probably play without practicing this week.

Abanikanda rushed for 140 yards against Virginia Tech and then had nine carries against the Tigers for 56 yards before leaving with concussion symptoms.

"At tailback, Rodney Hammond's (43-251yds, 3 TD) had another good week.  Vince (Davis, 79-263yds, 3 TD) is good, so we got two back there you feel really good about.  Daniel Carter (6-31 yards, TD) has played well.  He's gotten some reps at fullback and he's made some big plays at that fullback position.  He's just a big tailback and he does a nice job."

Senior running back AJ Davis, who had nearly a thousand yards rushing in his career at Pitt, entered the transfer portal on Monday.

"AJ Davis is a great kid," Narduzzi said.  "It's obviously a little bit disappointing.  He's got to do what he's got to do.  His playing time was limited.  He didn't see himself playing a lot."

Funny Moment

Narduzzi started his media gathering joking about the question Mike Tomlin got at his news conference on Tuesday about interest in college coaching jobs.

"You guys better not ask me about a USC job," Narduzzi deadpanned.
