PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A second Pitt basketball player has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. JUCO transfer Chris Payton is leaving after one season with the Panthers.
The 6'7", 210-pound forward with great athletic ability only played 40 minutes all season, twice reaching a Division 1 career-high of six minutes (vs. UNC-Wilmington and Clemson). He scored 10 total points in 13 games going 4 of 6 from the field with 10 rebounds and three assists.
Payton played two seasons at Indian Hills Community College and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Another reserve forward, Noah Collier, announced his decision to transfer earlier this week. The Panthers currently have nine scholarship players on the roster for the 2022-23 season.
