PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – For a second straight season, Pitt All-American Olivia Babcock was named the best volleyball player in the nation.
On Wednesday, Babcock honored with back-to-back Honda Sports Awards. It is presented to the best player in each of the 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports. She is the fifth volleyball player in history to win the award twice.
A senior this coming season, she has won the AVCA National Player of the Year, ACC Player of the Year and AVCA East Coast Region Player of the Year two years in a row.
Babcock is the only student-athlete in Pitt history to be named a three-time AVCA First Team All-American.
