Pitt Basketball posts video about Black Lives Matter

Players say movement is not over and they need your help

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The Pitt men’s basketball team doesn’t want you to forget that anything has been solved in the movement of Black Lives Matter.

Several members of the team posted an edited together video asking for us not to forget about the cause.

“All lives can’t matter until black lives matter.  Black Lives Matter is just setting the bar equal.  It’s not really saying that black lives are more important than other lives because, obviously, everybody’s life is important out here.”

Players say this is more than basketball and that social injustice, inequality and systemic racism has gone on far too long.

“This is not just a trend,” Pitt players said.  “This can’t be a short-term thing because if we let it die out, then we are letting our opportunities die out.  Black Lives Matter at one point was the focal point on social media because it was cool to post for a week that doesn’t mean it solved any problems.  We are here to remind you that this is not over.”

The team asks the fans to support them off the court in this effort.
