
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt football added 19 players on Monday including a Trinity High School grad coming home after spending two seasons at Texas A&M and another transfer from South Fayette.
Three of the 19 players are transfers with the others listed as freshmen walk-ons.
The transfers are Ty Banco (6’1”, 330 pounds), a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman from Washington. Banco spent a pair of years with the Aggies. Also a redshirt sophomore, South Fayette defensive lineman Cam Rosinsky (6’1”, 240 pounds) who spent a couple of years at Sacred Heart. The other transfer is a sixth-year defensive back from Division II Chowan University. 5’11”, 185 pounder Marcus Serrano from Philadelphia. He played there two seasons with one interception and a couple of passes defended in 17 games including 40 tackles.
Four of the walk-ons are from the WPIAL—Offensive linemen Josh Nindl (6’3”, 290 pounds) from Pine-Richland and Thomas Jefferson’s Shep Turk (6’4”, 285 pounds), McKeesport defensive back Valdez Stuvaints (5’10”, 188 pounds) and Greater Latrobe linebacker John Wetzel (5’11”, 200 pounds).
The additions are split with eight on defense and eight on offense and three specialists.
