PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A couple of key players who had offers to go to other schools this offseason decided they wanted to prove that Pitt was a better program than the three wins from the 2023 season. Off to its best start since 1991, Pitt returned to the AP Top 25 on Sunday.
The 5-0 Panthers are ranked 22nd, which matches their last appearance in the poll following the Sun Bowl victory over UCLA at the end of the 2022 season.
Pitt is sparked by a complete overhaul of the offensive staff led by coordinator Kade Bell. A year after being one of the worst scoring offenses in FCS, the Panthers are currently sixth at 45.6 points per game. Redshirt freshman quarterback Eli Holstein is excelling in several areas
· 4th in points responsible for (108)
· 5th in touchdown passes (15)
· 8th in passing yards per game (313)
· 15th in passing efficiency (167.52)
Panthers return home to host Cal Saturday at 3:30 with pregame coverage on 93.7 The Fan starting at 12:30p.
