PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – An interception to seal the game against the Volunteers on Saturday, Pitt safety Brandon Hill named the Co-ACC Defensive Back of the Week.

It wasn’t only the fourth quarter interception that was huge.  Hill made a great tackle that saved four points.  The sophomore brought down Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton after a 54-yard run and prevented a touchdown.  Vols would have to settle for a field goal as the Panthers won by seven.

The Florida native also led all Panthers with seven tackles.

It’s the second honor in Hill’s short Pitt career.  Named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week after returning an interception for a touchdown at Florida State last year.

Hill is the first Panther to win a player of the week honor in 2021 as Pitt hosts Western Michigan Saturday at noon.
