Pitt star Bub Carrington named NBA All-Rookie Team

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – For the second straight season, Bub Carrington named to an All-Rookie Team. As a freshman at Pitt, Carrington was on the ACC All-Rookie Team and now in his first year in the NBA. Carrington named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team Tuesday.

The 19-year-old guard started his first pro season slow, but really found his game as the season progressed to play in all 82 games with the Washington Wizards averaging 9.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He set the Washington rookie record with 138 three-pointers. He scored in double figures in each of his final seven games and nine of the last 10 including 32 points against Orlando and hitting the game-winner in the season finale at Miami.

Carrington and LeBron James are the only players in NBA history to record 800 points and 350 assists as teenagers. The former Pitt guard is only the second 19-year-old to have 800 points, 300 assists, 300 rebounds and 125 three-pointers in one season in NBA history, joining Luka Doncic.

·     Carrington also honored with a Wizards team award for work in the community and got $10,000 to give to the charity of his choice
