PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt has its first basketball recruit for 2021. Nate Santos, a 6'7" guard from the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut committed to Jeff Capel Tuesday night according to ESPN's Adam Finkelstein.
Santos had offers from Big 10 champ Illinois, Big East champ Georgetown, Virginia Tech, TCU, Xavier, Wisconsin and others. He's a three star recruit and the second ranked player in Connecticut, fifth best in New England. In his last full season, Santos averaged 17.1 points and 6 rebounds a game.
Finkelstein says Santos has 'a good combination of size, athleticism and shot-making.
He tore his ACL last February and reclassified for the 2021 year. It appears he made a full recovery.
