PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The lead rusher is leaving, but Pitt added a transfer yesterday who could play running back. That was probably enough to finalize Vincent Davis' decision, the tailback is leaving Pitt per multiple reports Wednesday.
The 5'8" senior has been with the program since 2019. He rushed for 1813 yards in his Pitt career with 16 touchdowns. The Florida native caught another 64 passes for 413 yards and a score. In a crowded backfield in 2022, Davis ran a career-low 52 times for 274 yards and one score, averaging a career-best 5.3 yards per rush.
He had seven carries for 27 yards in the Sun Bowl win, his biggest game this year was 83 yards against Western Michigan. The biggest game of his career was memorable-25 carries for 247 yards and a touchdown against Georgia Tech in the 2020 season finale.
