PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A day after putting veteran Matt Nieto on waivers, the Pens lost another forward before hosting Philadelphia on Thursday.
The NHL piece in the Jake Guentzel trade, Michael Bunting, is out indefinitely after appendix surgery. Bunting played 13 minutes against the Flyers on Tuesday, but was not at practice on Wednesday.
The 6' winger is an energy guy who is sixth on the team in scoring with 29 points and fifth in goals with 14. The left-handed shot has played anywhere from the first to third line.
