PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steve Yzerman was a Red Wings legend and one of Sidney Crosby’s favorite players, Saturday afternoon against Florida Crosby passed Yzerman for seventh on the NHL all-time points list with 1,756 on an assist to Evgeni Malkin for his 1,400th point.
Dealing with a pair of injuries in the second half of the season, Crosby returned Monday with two assists against the Islanders and then Tuesday assisted on Rickard Rakell’s opening goal of the game and Saturday the assist on Erik Karlsson’s power play goal.
Marcel Dionne is next with 1,771 points.

Crosby is also one point away from clinching his 20th consecutive season where he averaged at least a point per game.
