PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) On Wednesday afternoon, Pittsburgh Penguins defensemen Marcus Pettersson and Chad Ruhwedel have cleared COVID protocol and returned to practice.
That would leave Sidney Crosby, Brian Dumoulin, and head coach Mike Sullivan as Penguins personnel still in protocol after all testing positive for COVID-19.
According to Penguins general manager Ron Hextall, both Crosby and Dumoulin should be clearing protocol this upcoming Saturday.
Hextall said that the team "Certainly looks forward to having them back on the ice."
Crosby himself missed the beginning of the season recovering from an offseason wrist surgery, came back for a single game before being placed on protocol.
According to reports from coach Todd Reirden, who has stepped in for Sullivan while he recovers, Crosby did experience symptoms of the virus.
