PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Sunday that forward Brandon Tanev has been taken off the injured reserve list.
General Manager Ron Hextall announced Tanev's activation and goaltender Alex D'Orio being recalled from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Tanev missed the last 18 games of the regular season after sustaining an injury in his 100th career game — against the Boston Bruins on April 3.
But Tanev is back for the Penguins' postseason journey, though.
And none too soon, the first game of Round 1 is scheduled for noon Sunday against the New York Islanders.
