The Penguins top-line center Jeff Cater has tested positive for COVID-19 and starting goaltender Tristan Jarry is also in the Covid protocol

Head coach Mike Sullivan says that both players are asymptomatic at this time.

With Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin already out, Evan Rodrigues becomes the team's top-line center.

"I think E-Rod's used to it," Sullivan said. "He's been playing in that capacity for a season-plus. He played a lot of top-6 minutes last year as well."

Carter and Jarry will be unable to play on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs at PPG Paints Arena.

Sullivan also confirmed that Crosby will be unavailable as well. He is still recovering from wrist surgery.

Carter has one goal and three assists in the first four games of the season.

Jarry is 2-0-1 so far this season with a 1.62 goals against average and a solid .935 save percentage through three starts.
