PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) After playing most of the 2021 season in Double-A with the Altoona Curve, Oneil Cruz was recently promoted to Triple-A.
In his short stint with the Indianapolis Indians, Cruz played in six games; Most notably bashing five home runs in that time.
His efforts have already paid off, as Oneil Cruz has been given the call and will join the Pittsburgh Pirates for his first stint in the MLB.
The move was originally reported by Hector Gomez, and later confirmed by Jason Makey through his sources.

Gomez was also the first to break the Roansy Contreras call up.
With the call up, Cruz is expected to make his MLB debut Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds.
There may only be a pair of games left for the Pirates, but it's important for Cruz to get his feet wet at the top level.
One of the Buccos' top prospects, Cruz will be fighting for a regular spot in the majors.
Cruz is one of the main reasons why the future is exciting for the Pirates, now fans get to see their first glimpse of a possible all-star.
