PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Prior to first pitch in historic Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs, the Pittsburgh Pirates announced a pair of roster moves.
Philip Evans was recalled from AAA Indianapolis and is slated to start at third base against the Cubs on Thursday.
Evans will bat eighth in the lineup and is making his first appearance since August 6 in Cincinnati.
The Pirates have also optioned pitcher Max Kranick to AAA Indianapolis.
In 2021, Kranick has played the first six games of his MLB career, one of which included his debut where a perfect game was ended by a rain delay.
Through the 2021 season Kranick has played in six games and hold a 1-3 record, 7.66 ERA, and 19 strikeouts.
