UPDATE-Davis was hit by a pitch and scored a run in his first at bat Tuesday. He would hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning.
Catcher Henry Davis promoted to AA Altoona after hitting .341 with 10 extra-base hits including five home runs and 22 RBI in just 22 games. The former Louisville star was second in the South Atlantic League in batting average and OPS (1.035), third in RBI and slugging percentage (.585), fourth in on-base percentage (.450) and fifth in hits (28).
He is the second ranked prospect in the Pirates system and consensus top 50 in the minors. The New York native has played in 30 career professional games hitting .333 with five doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 29 RBI and a .435 OBP.
Davis is in the Curve lineup on Tuesday night hitting second with Pirates 2020 first-round pick Nick Gonzales hitting third.
