Pirates outright players to Triple-A, reinstate injured pitchers

PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The 2021 MLB offseason has been underway for the Pittsburgh Pirates for some time now, but the action has started to pick up.

The last few days have seen the Pirates make signings from the waiver wire and now they have made moves regarding players being sent back to the minor leagues.

On Saturday the Pirates announced that seven players have been outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Those players are:

Pitcher Chase De Jong

Pitcher Enyel De Los Santos

Infielder Wilmer Difo

Pitcher Kyle Keller

Pitcher Connor Overton

Pitcher Chasen Shreve

Pitcher Shea Spitzbarth

Shreve have elected to be come a free agent.

The Pirates have also announced that six players have been reinstated to the roster coming off of the injured list.

Players now back on the 40-man roster are:

Pitcher Steven Brault

Pitcher Blake Cederlind

Pitcher Dillon Peters

Pitcher Jose Soriano

Pitcher Duane Underwood Jr.

Pitcher Bryse Wilson

With these moves the Pirates now have 40 players on their 40-man roster.
