Trubisky talks possibility of joining Steelers

Free agent quarterback Mitch Trubisky is talking about the teams that he could possibly join next week, including the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Talking on Adam Schefter’s podcast, Trubisky calls the Steelers “a legendary franchise.”

“You think of the black and gold, you think of Coach Mike Tomlin, Ben Roethlisberger slinging it around,” Trubisky said.

Trubisky, who backed up Josh Allen in Buffalo last season, says he’s also intrigued by the AFC North.

“Tough division, lot of great quarterbacks, just hard-nose football in the AFC North, so I got a lot of respect for Coach Tomlin and that great defense they got up there.

A Cleveland-area native, Trubisky says he wouldn’t have any issues suiting up in black and gold, but his family? Not so much.

“I think it would be hard to get a lot of my family members to switch into those colors, but I’ve been doing it just fine,” said Trubisky.

Schefter predicts that Trubisky will be starting for either the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints or Indianapolis Colts (he also predicted Washington, but since the recording Carson Wentz was traded to the Commanders.)

The 27-year-old was drafted by the Chicago Bears with the second overall pick in the 2017 draft.

He’s 29-21 in his career with all of those starts in Chicago.

Trubisky also talks about his wife expecting and trying to navigate that while joining a new team, as well as the impact that Josh Allen left on him during his time with the Bills.
